The first conversation

What Happens When You Call

We listen before we recommend anything

Most people don’t call with a plan. They call because something isn’t working anymore, and they don’t know exactly what they need. That’s enough to start.

The first conversation isn’t about convincing you of anything. It’s about slowing down, listening, and understanding what’s actually happening. You’ll talk with a member of our admissions team who can answer questions about our programs, your insurance and what the next few days could look like.

Asking for help can feel vulnerable. We know that, and we’ll treat it that way.

How it works

The Admissions Process, Step by Step

Four steps, and we walk you through each one

  1. 1

    Call or send the form

Talk to our admissions team, or leave your details and we’ll call you back. No commitment, and no right words needed.

  2. 2

    Free insurance verification

We check your benefits before anything else, so you know where you stand before you commit.

  3. 3

    Pre-screening with the Clinical Director

A short pre-screening, reviewed by our Clinical Director, who recommends PHP, IOP or OP using ASAM criteria and clinical judgment.

  4. 4

    Intake and your first day

Once your benefits are verified and the pre-screening is done, we can often have you enrolled within 24 hours.

If You're Not Sure You Need Treatment

“I know I have a problem, but I don’t think it’s that bad.”

Something we hear on first calls

Feeling unsure is normal. It doesn’t mean you don’t want help. Sometimes it means you’re scared of what changing will require. Calling doesn’t commit you to anything. We’ll give you an honest clinical picture, with no pressure, and you decide what comes next.

Talk it through with us

If You're Calling for Someone You Love

“I’ve tried everything.” “I’m afraid something is going to happen to him.” If that sounds like you, you can call us first, before your loved one is ready. We’ll help you understand the options and how to start the conversation.

Honest about scope

Who Sunview Is Right For, and Who Needs Something First

If you need something else first, we’ll help you get there.

A good fit if…

  • You’re an adult, 18 or older
  • You’re medically and psychiatrically steady enough to take part
  • You’re stepping down from detox or residential care, or starting from home
  • You have a safe place to live and sleep every night

We treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions together.

Something first if…

  • Stopping a substance could cause dangerous withdrawal: detox comes first
  • You need round-the-clock care right now: residential treatment comes first
  • You need housing along with treatment
  • You’re maintained on methadone

Then we’ll help you find the right place, and plan Sunview as your next step.

It was the most rewarding experience I've had in such a long moment of time! The knowledge and expertise of the staff was immeasurable, of high quality and refreshing! A special shout out to Jillian my therapist, Carissa and Frank! This by no means is meant or intended to take from the excellent job done by each individual employee and Sunview. I'm not the type that would just throw around gratitude lightly! Last but not least, I want to give a shout out to all my peers and all participants of Sunview, for their unselfish willingness to surrender and assist the healing and recovery of others! God bless you! Love, Henry Edwards and Tiffany Cunningham!

Sunview Wellness was the icing on the cake in my mental health journey and recovery and it honestly changed my life for the better..This program was outstanding in the approach they implement to help all of their clients. The important thing is you have to really want the help and do the work to get where you want and need to be. I believe participation in the group therapy is essential even though it may not be easy at first. Every single person that works at Sunview Wellness is caring and really wants everyone to get well. Laura Contreras was my therapist and she is one of the most caring empathetic individuals I have ever come across. She was truly the right therapist for me. Mia stood out to me ( even though everyone was good) as an excellent group facilitator . Karissa Delaney the office manager was always a welcoming face in the morning. She was always willing to help out with any concerns or questions that I had. I was actually sad when my time came to leave Sunview even though I was ready. I made many friends and enjoyed the interaction with other people that GOT IT with NO JUDGEMENT! And Finally thank you Frank for overseeing and having such a wonderful place for people to come and heal. I’m forever greatful. 😊💕
