Evening IOP in West Palm Beach
Treatment three evenings a week, after your workday ends.
An evening intensive outpatient program for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Group therapy Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 PM, a weekly session with your own therapist and psychiatric care when you need it. You keep your job and go home every night.
What Evening IOP Is: Intensive Outpatient Treatment After Work
Evening IOP is Sunview’s intensive outpatient program on an after-work schedule. You come to group therapy three evenings a week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 PM, meet one-on-one with your primary therapist every week, and see a psychiatric provider when medication is part of your care.
It is built for adults who know they need real treatment for alcohol, drugs or both, and who also have a job, a family and a home they intend to keep showing up for. It also works as a step down for people going back to work after PHP or residential treatment.
The clinical work is the same as our day intensive outpatient program. Substance use and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression and trauma are treated together, as one connected picture. Only the hours change.

Keep Working While You Get Treatment
Your days stay yours, and your evenings do the work
Sunview was built on a simple idea: recovery is practiced where you actually live. That is the heart of our In Vivo Treatment™ approach. Evening IOP puts it into your week. You go to work, you come to group, and you go home.
Your job
Group starts at 6 PM, after most workdays end. You don’t need to explain a string of missed afternoons.
Your home
You sleep in your own bed every night. Sunview is outpatient care, so there is no stay to arrange.
Your family
Tuesday, Friday and the weekend stay free for the people and plans that matter to you.
Your real life, in treatment
What happens at work and at home during the day becomes the material you work on in group that night.
What a Night in Group Looks Like at Sunview
Less lecture, more real conversation
- 1
You arrive after work
Come straight from your job. If getting here is hard, ask us about our free door-to-door transportation.
- 2
One group, one facilitator
The same clinician leads the whole three hours, with breaks. Trust builds faster when the room stays the same.
- 3
Your day comes into the room
A tense meeting, a craving on the drive home, a hard talk with your partner. We slow it down and practice a different response.
- 4
You go home at 9 PM
You leave with something to try tomorrow, at work and at home, and you bring back what happened.
Group at Sunview runs on carefrontation: honest feedback, given with care. People learn to point out patterns and blind spots without shaming anyone, and to hear hard things without shutting down. Topics draw on the same therapies we use across every program.
Therapies used in evening group:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- CBT
- DBT
- Psychodrama
- Inner child work
What the Evening Intensive Outpatient Program Includes
Full clinical care, on an after-work schedule
Evening IOP is not a support group or a lighter version of treatment. It is the same intensive outpatient level of care as our day program, with a licensed clinical team, a treatment plan you review with your therapist every month and psychiatric care when you need it.
When you are ready for less, you step down with the same team, so moving to the next stage doesn’t mean starting over with strangers. Read about our substance use treatment and dual diagnosis treatment.
Privacy and Discretion in Evening Outpatient Treatment
Getting help shouldn’t cost you your reputation at work. Your treatment records are protected by federal privacy law for substance use and mental health care, and we share information only with your written consent, except where the law requires it.
- Records shared only with your written consent
- Treatment after hours, so your workday doesn’t change
- Home every night, with no stay to explain
Who Evening IOP Is Right For
We recommend the level that sets you up to succeed
Every admission starts with a short pre-screening. Our Clinical Director reviews it and recommends your level of care using ASAM criteria and clinical judgment, looking at your symptoms, length of sobriety, treatment history and home environment.
If you’ve been taking opioids or benzodiazepines regularly for a long time, medically supervised detox comes first. That’s about your safety, and we’ll help you plan the path back to evening IOP.
Evening IOP tends to fit if
- You work, study or care for family during the day
- You’re medically stable and not in active withdrawal
- You need more than a weekly therapy appointment
- You live at home and can get to West Palm Beach three evenings a week
- You’re stepping down from PHP, residential treatment or detox and going back to work
Sunview is outpatient care.
If detox, residential treatment or housing needs to come first, we’ll help you get there and plan Sunview as your next step.
