Alcohol and crack cocaine are the substances we see most. We also treat opioids and benzodiazepines, usually as the next step after medically supervised detox. Many people come to us using more than one substance, and often with anxiety, depression or trauma alongside it.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment: PHP, IOP and OP
Keep your job. Sleep in your own bed.
Every level includes group therapy with one facilitator for the whole session, individual therapy, psychiatric care through Telemed Clinix and free door-to-door transportation if you can’t drive. You step down as you progress, with the same team.
Partial Hospitalization Program
Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM. The most structure we offer, often right after detox or residential care.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Three days a week, day or evening, for people who need real depth and have to keep working.
Outpatient Program
One weekday morning, to keep the work going as life takes back the rest of the week.

Free of substances doesn’t mean free of medication
While you’re in treatment, marijuana, stimulants, opioids and benzodiazepines are off the table. At the same time, we support medications that help recovery. Anti-craving medications like naltrexone and Suboxone are welcome when a qualified outside provider prescribes and manages them, and we coordinate with them.
A prescription or a medical card doesn’t decide fit on its own. During pre-screening we look at what you take, how much, how often and for how long.

Going Deeper Than Coping Skills
Skills matter. So does where the triggers began.
We teach coping skills and relapse prevention. But skills without insight are a band-aid over a bullet hole: it’s hard to change a trigger you don’t understand. So we go beneath the presenting problem, at a pace that’s safe for you.
The why behind the behavior
Psychodynamic work looks at how past experiences and relationships still shape what you do today, so the pattern makes sense instead of just being resisted.
Inner child work
Old experiences of feeling unsafe, rejected or not good enough can drive adult choices. We help you recognize them and respond from who you are now.
Internal Family Systems
IFS is part of our group topics and individual sessions: understanding the different parts of yourself, including the one that reaches for a substance.
Carefrontation
Carefrontation is honest feedback, given with care: compassion and accountability at the same time, without shame.
Safety first
When You Need Detox or Residential First
If you need something else first, we’ll help you find it.
Outpatient treatment works when you’re medically and psychiatrically steady enough to take part. If you’ve been using opioids or benzodiazepines regularly for a long time, or if stopping could cause dangerous withdrawal, medically supervised detox and often residential care come first.
We’ll tell you honestly during pre-screening, help you find the right place, and plan Sunview as your next step. Most people who come to us are stepping down from exactly that kind of care.
Family Involvement in Addiction Treatment
Addiction affects the whole family, and families often see patterns that aren’t obvious in treatment. With your consent, your therapist contacts a loved one during your first week. After that, involvement follows your pace: updates, calls, or family sessions every few weeks.
If you’re hesitant, that’s okay. Nobody is pressured into it. We’ll explore what’s underneath the hesitation, when you’re ready.

You don’t have to know before you call
Many people start in the Partial Hospitalization Program after detox or residential treatment. Others start in the Intensive Outpatient Program, day or evening, or in the Outpatient Program when their pre-screening supports it. Our Clinical Director recommends the level that fits you.

If detox, residential treatment or housing needs to come first, we’ll help you get there and plan Sunview as your next step.

Sunview Wellness is second to none. The staff at Sunview are amazing people who truly want to make their clients lives better and healthier. The staff provides you and others with an environment conducive to healing, learning and managing your life. You are able to express yourself without judgment from the staff or other clients. You are provided guidance through group sessions, private one-on-one sessions with a therapist and written materials to use outside of the facility. Although Sunview Wellness is a business and needs revenue to survive, the staff focuses predominately on your health and not on its bottom line. Gabe is awesome! I have had therapists before at other practices and he is one of the most empathetic and down to earth providers I have had. The group facilitators and other staff there are very kind and helpful as well. The support to get you back onto a good mental health path is amazing. All admissions FAQsSunview is outpatient care, so detox happens before you start with us. If stopping could cause dangerous withdrawal, you’ll need medically supervised detox first. We’ll help you find it and plan Sunview as your next step.
Many people do. PHP ends at 1 PM, day IOP meets three mornings a week, and evening IOP meets Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 PM. See the Intensive Outpatient Program.
